What structure is actually telling you

Higher highs and higher lows mean buyers are willing to pay progressively more; the inverse for sellers. A break of structure (BOS) is the market saying the prior agreement on direction has changed — at least temporarily.

Where SMC adds value

The SMC framework forces traders to wait for confirmation rather than predict. That alone improves risk-adjusted outcomes for most retail traders, regardless of whether the underlying narrative about "smart money" is literally true.

Where it gets overfitted

On low timeframes, every wick can be relabelled as a sweep, every candle as a structure shift. If your structure read changes every 15 minutes, you're not reading structure — you're rationalising.

Risk warning: Forex and CFD trading carry substantial risk. Most retail traders lose money. This material is educational and does not constitute financial advice.
